Transforming Community Services: towards healthy change

The Transforming Community Services (TCS) programme is a major element in the Primary and Community Care vision as set out in the NHS Next Stage Review. On 13 January 2009, the TCS programme launched a series of guidance documents and resource packs, designed to help strengthen and benchmark the business processes and staff capabilities of PCT community services.

The new set of tools aims to support organisations to become ‘business fit’ and ‘transformational’ so that the care provided is of the highest quality and responsive to the needs of patients and local communities. This is becoming increasingly important, particularly given the strong linkages with the Operating Framework.
