Partnerships UK’s Provider Services Development Programme for PCTs

25/09/2008
In July 2008, a further two Primary Care Trusts (PCTs) joined the programme bringing the total number to fifteen

The development programme was launched in early 2007, when the Partnerships UK Public Services team created the support framework to aid PCTs in separating their in-house provider services from the commissioning side of their organisations.

The programme was developed as a response to the policy agenda outlined in the 2006 White Paper 'Our Health, Our Care, Our Say' and the 2008/09 NHS Operating Plan which clearly indicated the need for PCTs in England to separate their provider functions from their commissioning responsibilities.
